Stratford Ontario Visited

by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)

Like many of us, my first experience of Stratford was on a school trip.

The trip to Stratford was to see a play at the Stratford Festival.

Honestly, I can’t remember which play we experienced, but I do remember the “BOX LUNCH“!

Years later, when I lived in the Kitchener-Waterloo area, I visited Stratford quite often.

Needless to say, Stratford holds a strong attraction to me.

So when the opportunity to spend a few days in Stratford presented itself, Scoop (Judi) and I jumped at the chance!

Stratford is a beautiful community, located on the Avon River.

If you drive or walk along the river, you’ll see white swans floating in the water…

or looking for food on the river’s banks.

During our visit to Stratford we stayed at the Serenity B & B, an amazing experience!

We were also able to attend one of Stratford Festival’s awesome plays, The Man from La Mancha.

After the play, driving back to the B & B, I drove Judi “crazy” by singing and humming “The Impossible Dream“!

During our visit to Stratford we were able to experience and enjoy so many attractions!

For example, there was our visit to the Stratford Festival Costume Museum.

Not only where we able to see and touch many of the costumes, Judi was able to try on a couple of them!

Other attractions we were able to visit included ~ The Stratford Gallery, the art on display was breath taking.

The Stratford-Perth Museum contained hundreds of artifacts from the area.

In the park on the Avon River, we enjoyed “Art in the Park” where artists displayed there work.

We also enjoyed several “Stratford Summer Music” performances.

It is no wonder why so many people love to visit and explore Stratford.

The whole aura of the city exudes charm and fantasy!

Every where you walk, you find something intriguing to explore.

As we toured the downtown,  the “smell” of chocolate filled the air!

We were exploring the “Chocolate Trail“!

It’s impossible to describe in words how much we enjoyed our Stratfordexperience“, but the videos show below will give you a glimpse of our Stratford Visited!
