Rosseau Ontario Visited
by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)
As a kid, I basically grew up in the Muskoka area!
Although, I was only there during the summer months, those times left a huge impression on me.
I didn’t experience a lot of the Muskoka Lakes side of Muskoka, but I certainly heard about it.
This was especially true on the weekends when we were traveling up to our cottage on the Lake of Bays!
The traffic was always “interesting“!
It wasn’t until I was an adult that I actually experienced the “real” Muskoka and the Town of Rosseau.
It was at this point, that I really felt the magnificence of the whole Region.
This was brought clearly to Judi and me, when we visited the Rosseau Classic Cruise.
Our friend, the amazing Captain Randy Potts, owner of Sunset Cruises and the Peerless II, had suggested that it might be an event we’d like to cover.
The event and the Town of Rosseau were wonderful.
So much so, that we have been back a number of times.
The park area, where the Classic Cruise event took place, is great.
We’ve even picniced there.
During the Rosseau Classic Cruise, Captain Randy was conducting Muskoka Lakes tours in his cruise boat, the Idyllwood.
The tour was fantastic, so many stories, so many fabulous cottages!
The quaintness of Rosseau attracts so many people.
I am happy to include Judi and me amongst the town’s admirers!
