Richmond Ontario Visited
by Judi “Scoop” McWilliams
If you are going to visit Ottawa, you should consider a side trip to the Village of Richmond.
The Village of Richmond is one of the many unique communities that surround Canada’s capital.
The picturesque Jock River run through the village.
Richmond was founded in 1818, so you can image that it has many historic homes and buildings.
Of course, the village has embraced today’s world.
Modern buildings are definitely part of the village’s landscape.
During our visit, we enjoyed a picnic in the Richmond Conservation Area.
The Jock River is part of this scenic conservation area.
Another integral part of the community is the Richmond Fair.
The Richmond Agricultural Society has been hosting the Fair since 1841!
As you can imagine, it is one of the best fairs in the area.
As I mentioned at the beginning of this article, Richmond and all of the areas historic villages and rural countryside are definitely worth discovering and exploring!
Below is the Oh Canada Eh! Game video we took during our visit.
