Orillia Visited

Ontario’s All Natural Playground…
The following is an excerpt from The City of Orillia website ~ “Recognized as one of the premier outdoor recreation areas in Canada, Orillia is at the heart of Lake Country and home to boating, swimming, skiing, walking, hiking, cycling, and much more.“
This is a great place to visit! It’s located on the shores of Lake Couchiching. Its scenic lakeside park is one of the best in Ontario.
I know that Judi and her sisters have many happy childhood memories of playing in the park. Judi’s sister, Carol, and the Newmarket Citizens Band, play their often.
Our favourite Orillia park is the Couchiching Beach Park.
Both Judi and I love visiting and exploring this park!
The park has so much to see and do!
In the middle of the park is the Samuel de Champlain Monument.
The park offers visitors a variety of activities.
You can rent a kayak to explore the harbour.
There are plenty of interesting areas to check out!
You have to be careful because all kinds of boats ( big and small) come and go into the harbour!
Another great activity is a cruise on the “Island Princess“.
The Island Princess cruise is a great way of exploring Lake Couchiching.
I could “go on and on” about all that Couchiching Beach Park has to offer…
… but that would be spoiling it for you! The best way to experience Orillia’s Couchiching Beach Park is to visit it yourself!
Make it park to your “to do list” when you visit Orillia!
Speaking of Orillia “things to do“, a visit to the main downtown street is a “must“!
On their main street there are many wonderful shops.
One in particular beckons to Judi and I each time we visit Orillia. The shop/restaurant is the Mariposa Market.
We love “hanging” around the Market!
The food is terrific and there is so much to see (and buy)!
The City of Orillia is a “visitor’s” city, from its “unique downtown area” to its “amazing parks” and its “entertaining festivals” (Mariposa Folk Festival) , the city offers so much!
“Maybe we will see you in Orillia at the Couchiching Beach Park or the Mariposa Market!”
