Elora Ontario Visited
by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)
It wasn’t the best time of year to visit the Village of Elora.
But the Village of Elora still lived up to its reputation as “Ontario’s Most Beautiful Village“.
We came into the Village the “back way“.
On the way into Elora we passed some very interesting buildings.
Many of Elora’s buildings are built from limestone.
This is significant because of Elora’s closeness to the Elora Gorge.
As we came closer to the village downtown, the homes became more elaborate.
We started to get the “feel” of the Village!
I had been to Elora before, but that was years ago and I didn’t really remember the layout.
As we drove around the village, I started remembering parts of it.
I think the part that I remembered most was the Elora Mews.
However, the area was under construction, so my memory was limited!
Some of the buildings that I thought I remembered were still there.
Others were gone or had drastically changes!
It really didn’t matter, Judi and I were just enjoying the ambiance of downtown Elora!
Elora is one of those places that you can “explore” and “enjoy” year round!
As Judi and I left the Village of Elora to visit our next “adventure“, we decided that Elora was a community to be “explored” again!
