Beamsville Ontario Visited
by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)
We first discover Beamsville by bicycles!
Actually, that’s not exactly true.
Perhaps I should start at the beginning of the story!
Years ago, when Judi and I lived Port Credit, we decided to go on a bicycle trip.
We decided to make our final destination, Niagara-on-the-Lake.
It was going the be a leisurely trip, so we planned on being on the road for 4 or 5 days.
We like to plan our trips, so a few weeks before our adventure, we drove the route we thought we should take.
The ride was going to take us along the Lakeshore, through Oakville and Burlington and then, on to Stoney Creek,
From Stoney Creek, we would take side roads all the way to Niagara-on-the-Lake.
So, it was on our exploring trip, by car, that we first discovered Beamsville!
We thought that it looked like an interesting community, but, at this point, we were just driving through.
It wasn’t until a few weeks later, when we were on our bikes, that we really got to appreciate our great Beamsville was.
You really never get to appreciate any community when you just do it be car.
Since that first discovery, we’ve been back through Beamsville many times. We always try to stop along the way to enjoy all the wonderful communities along the way!
Frankly, taking the “quick” way to Niagara doesn’t work for us, we need to “smell the roses“! The next time you plan on driving to the Niagara area, take the back roads and make sure you stop along the way!
The video shown being was taken during one of our trips through the Community of Beamsville.
