Bala Ontario Visited

by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)

The first time I visited the Village of Bala was when I was a teenager, looking for fun!

I had been told that Bala was where the “action – girls” was!

To be honest, I was very shy and didn’t have the nerve to find the “action“.

However, it had been a beautiful trip from my parent’s cottage on Lake of Bays, and I void to check out Bala later.

Later turned out to be several years later.

That’s when Scoop (Judi) and I visited Bala when our friends Ross and Cathy and their daughter, Erin.

We were there to experience the Bala Cranberry Festival.

We had such a great time, that we decide to visit it again (several times).

Bala, as you may know, is located in the “heart” of the Muskoka Region.

Bala offers a lot to visitors.

There is, as I mentioned, the Bala Cranberry Festival, which takes place in the fall.

Then, there’s the well-known Bala Falls, the source of the Moon River.

Judi and I enjoyed experiencing the falls…

… and taking lots of photos!

Bala is a great place to visit and to spend some family time!

But, don’t go looking for adventure (like I did as a teenager), unless you are BOLD and ADVENTURESOME and then you will definitely find it in Bala!
