Angus Ontario Visited

by Gary McWilliams (aka Festival Nomad)

The community of Angus is located just west of Barrie in Essa Township.

It’s funny, I’ve driven through Angus on a number of occasions, but I never really explores it.

That is, until recently!

As you may be aware, we created a number of Oh Canada Eh! Game videos for Canada’s sesquicentennial.

One of the communities we decided to visit and high-lite was Angus.

The choice was definitely appropriate, because of its proximity to CFB Borden.

CFB Borden (aka Canadian Forces Base Borden) has a long Canadian history!

First of all, it is the historic birthplace of the Royal Canadian Air Force.

And, it is the home to the largest training wing in the Canadian Arms Forces.

Over the years, Canada has been one of the United Nations best Peacekeeping Nations.

Angus is the home of an amazing Peacekeepers Park!

The park is full of memorials to Canada’s Peacekeepers.

A tribute to all those Peacekeepers who worked to make the World  safer.
